[Guide] How to Use Your Ledger Nano S with Cardano (ADA)

In keeping with its regular update schedule, Ledger became one of the latest entry-level hardware wallets to support Cardano (ADA), with support for the popular smart-contract platform being added in late March 2019.

Unlike most other supported cryptocurrencies, Cardano cannot be directly managed via the Ledger Live software, and can only be managed through integration with Yoroi and AdaLite — two of the most popular light wallets for the Cardano cryptocurrency.

In this guide, we will show you how to install the Cardano app on your Ledger device, which will then allow you to safely store ADA on your Ledger through its interaction with an external ADA wallet, such as Yoroi.

What you Need

Make sure to update your “Ledger Live” App from here:

  • Ledger Live installed on your computer
