Vechain is a blockchain platform that was designed to massively improve the efficiency of supply chains through the use of distributed ledger technology (DLT).
By offering a completely transparent platform through which suppliers and business partners can perform end-to-end tracking of their supply chains, Vechain will enable its partners to massively improve yields, identify inefficiencies and curb counterfeiting.
While this technology might not sound particularly interesting, Vechain has a large number of potential applications and could be set to disrupt the $20+ billion global supply chain management industry.
Since its launch in mid-2018, Vechain has been met with extraordinary enthusiasm, immediately entering the market with a market capitalization of close to $1 billion. Since then, Vechain has continued to grow and develop as a product and has been on a gradual uptrend for the last six months as institutional investments and partnerships rack up.
If you are a Vechain investor, you are likely holding for the long-term, expecting your Vechain (VET) to continue to grow in value. Arguably the best way to keep your investment safe is by storing your portfolio on a hardware wallet such as the Ledger Nano S
To help make accessing your VET easier, this tutorial will show how to connect your Ledger Nano S with the popular Vechain wallet VeForge Vault, allowing you to make transactions from the security of your Ledger device.
Make sure to update your “Ledger Live” App from here:
- Ledger Live installed
- An initialized Ledger Nano S
- An official Ledger USB cable
- Access to an internet browser
Connect Ledger and VeForge Vault
Step 1: To get started, we need to connect your Ledger Nano S to the VeForge Vault.
First, head over the VeForge Vault website: https://vault.veforge.com/
Here, select the ‘Ledger’ option to be taken to the hardware wallet login page.
Step 2: When you see the VeForge Vault home page, connect your Ledger Nano S to your computer using the official Ledger USB cable.
Enter your pin to unlock your device, and open the VeChain app. If you don’t already have the Vechain app installed, check out our handy guide to installing new apps on your Ledger Nano S before continuing.
After the VeChain app has been opened, VeForge Vault should automatically detect this.
Step 3: Here, click the ‘Launch Wallet’ button to load your wallet. This should take just a few seconds, after which you will be automatically redirected to your Vechain wallet.
Step 4: Through the VeForge interface, you will be able to send payments by clicking the ‘Send’ button, and can verify your addresses by clicking the ‘Receive’ button.
You will need your Ledger device connected to your PC to perform certain functions, such as making payments and signing messages. Other than that, you should be able to use the majority of the functions in VeForge Vault without needing to interact again with your Ledger device.
